MTCC #61

Good morning

Today I am sharing the card I made for challenge #61 at Make the Card Challenge.

You will find the challenge here.

The challenge this month is a colour challenge.

I have used pastel shades of these colours on my card.

I used a background stamp with Versamark ink and white embossing powder
before blending Dried Marigold Distress Ink and
Salt Water Taffy Distress Oxide Ink over the top.

My card base is 5 1/4" square

A 5" square piece of green cardstock is the base layer
for the decorative panel that is 4 3/4" square.

A 1 1/4" x 5" piece of the green cardstock hold the sentiment, which is cut from white cardstock.
I have cut the sentiment 4 times and layered them on top of each other to create
a sentiment with some dimension.

I used Honey Bee - Lovely Layers: Heart Vine die to cut a green leaf spray,
a paper chrysanthemum from PortaCraft and a couple of small white flowers
from Uniquely Creative to create a cluster on the left hand section of the green panel.

You can watch my process video here
I hope you enjoy it.

Mystical Scrapbooks August Challenge

Hi there

Today's layout is for the August challenge at Mystical Scrapbooks.

The theme for this month is Sketches and the featured product is "all things sparkle".

You will find the challenge here
and all of the sparkle products are on sale here.

This is the sketch I have used for this layout.
It is from PageMaps

and this is my layout

I have made a couple of slight changes.
I have used one photo instead of two.
My embellishments are on a diagonal from top right to bottom left,
the sketch has the embellishments on the right hand side of the layout.
My title is under the photo, the sketch has the title above the photo.

I have used a paper from the Bee Arty - Bee The Sunshine range
this paper is Painted Honeycomb.

I have used an assortment of Washi Tapes to create the strips across the layout
and the small cluster in the bottom left of the page.

I have covered the "all things sparkle" by having lots of sparkle in the washis.

I added a row of lace to the strips for a little added texture.

These were scattered diagonally across my layout.
A little more bling with some tiny pink gems amongst the scatter.

were painted white and added to the layout.

I die cut the title from black cardstock using Uniquely Creative's
Small Lower Case Alpha dies
and Die-Namics Little Numbers die.

A double scribbly border using my fountain pen finishes this layout off.

Here is my process video
I hope you enjoy watching it.

As always, thank you for spend part of your day here with me today.

July Cyber Crop at Mystical Scrapbooks

Good morning

I have got a layout to share today.
I created this layout for the Cyber Crop at Mystical Scrapbooks.
You will find the Cyber Crop here

There are three challenges in this Crop and this layout if for the challenge
that requires you to use a flip on your layout.

You can see what I mean in the photos below.

The centre photo opens out to reveal two more photos underneath.

I used papers from the Uniquely Creative Steampunk Safari collection for this layout.

To create the background I used Scattered Straw and Rusty Hinge Distress Inks through

I have two photos measuring 3 1/2" x 6" and three measuring 3" x 6".
The smaller photos are in the flip section of my layout.
I used Steampunk Safari - Technical paper to matt the photos and to make the flip.

I used Uniquely Creative's Steampunk Safari - Awesome and Basic Grey's Green at Heart - Kermit papers behind the two outside photos along with a piece of the same cardstock I used to matt the whole layout.

I have sewn around everything with my sewing machine and black thread,
including a circle in the middle of the layout.

To embellish the layout I used some items from the Steampunk Safari Creative Cuts
and some fussy cut items from Steampunk Safari - Unique patterned paper

I cut the title from black cardstock using my Kaisercraft DD700 Alphabet Upper Case die.
I added a coat of Glossy Accents.

My process video is below.
In the video I also show you how I add my layout to a page protector
in my album so the flip can be opened.

Week 8 Mystical Scrapbooks Retro TV Program Competition

Hello hello

It's the final week of the Retro TV Program Challenge at Mystical Scrapbooks this week

You will find the challenge here

The program for this week is Happy Day's
What a great program it was and who wasn't "in love" with Fonzy,
I know I was. He was so cool.

The colour scheme for this week is denim and silver,
the required technique is paper tearing,
it must be a masculine layout
and the item from the optional kit is chipboard cogs.

Here is my layout

The papers I have used are from Uniquely Creative's Country Roads paper collection

The background is a sheet of The Real Deal patterned paper,
I have used Colour Blast Honey Hive - Love and Grace A4 stencil
and Faded Jeans Distress Ink to add some interest.

My photos are 4" square.
I have used an emery board to file around the edges of each of them.

I tore two strips of The Back Paddock paper and ran them down the sides of three of the photos

This panel was added to the left hand side of the layout
and one of the photos, which is matted on a piece of The Back Paddock paper
is featured on the right hand side of the layout.

All of the photos are mounted on cardboard.

I added a strip of black cardstock to both edges of the photo panel
and also to the left and right edges of the layout.

I used Memory Maze Pick up Sticks Square frame chipboard
and the chipboard cogs from the optional kit to embellish the layout.

Each piece was painted with white acrylic paint and then silver acrylic paint.

I cut the frame in half and placed it around the fourth photo and the cogs
were added to the top right of the photo panel and the bottom right of the layout.

I created a third cluster using Uniquely Creative's Silver Metal Cogs to the bottom left of the photo panel.
I also adde one of the metal cogs to each of the other cog clusters.

I cut the title from black cardstock using Kaisercraft's DD700 Alphabet Upper Case dies.

This is attached in the top right of the layout using liquid glue

All of the details are in this video.
I hope you find time to watch and enjoy it.

Mystical Scrapbooks June Inspiration

Good morning

I have got two masculine cards to share with you today

I have taken a couple of requirements from Week 2 and Week 4 of the Retro TV Programs competition at Mystical Scrapbooks to create these cards.

As I have had Covid and done some casual full time work for the AEC I have not had the opportunity to create a project for these weeks and thought I would do it this way.

Here are my cards

Lets start with the first card

I created this card using a couple of requirements from Week 2
Use shades of blue and a grid design.

I have used a pale blue cardstock for my 5 1/4" card base
A piece of white cardstock was trimmed to 5" square and embossed with a 3D embossing folder

paper that are approx 2" in size.

All of the papers/cardstock were distressed with my distressing tool and my Versa Color black ink cube

Scrap cardboard was attached to the back of the squares of patterned paper before they were attached to the white embossed cardstock

This panel was then attached to the card front.

The sentiment was attached to a piece of burlap and then attached to a piece of the same cardstock that I used to create the card base.
A piece of scrap cardboard was attached between the sentient and the card front.

To embellish this card I used a few cogs from Uniquely Creative's Silver Metal Cogs.

For the second card I used some of the requirements from week 4

Vintage and Washi Tape

I have created the 5 1/4" card base using a light kraft colours cardstock

The rust coloured cardstock is from the optional competition kit and measures 5" square

The patterned paper is a 4 1/2" square piece from Uniquely Creative's Drive and Fly - Train

All of the edges were distressed in the same way the previous card was.

I added some torn pieces of Washi Tape from the optional kit
to the bottom left and top right of the patterned paper panel

To embellish this card I used the chipboard stars from the optional kit and an arrow from

I painted them with two coats of white acrylic paint
one coat of Rust acrylic paint and a coat of

The papers/cardboard were attached to the front of the card with a piece of scrap cardboard behind the plain cardstock.

The chipboard was then attached using liquid glue and the sentiment, which is from Paper Roses - All Occasions Sentiment pack was the last thing to be added

So there we have my two cards for today

I hope you find some inspiration and check out the competition over at Mystical Scrapbooks.

Here is my process video
I hope you enjoy it

Fun Fold Shabby Chic Cards

I have got three fun fold cards to share with you today.

Card No. 1

I have used mauve cardstock for the base of this card

I cut pieces
11" x 4 1/4", 10 3/4" x 3 1/4" and 3 1/4" x 2 1/4"

I score and fold
the 11" piece at 2 3/4" & 5 1/2"
the 10 3/4" piece at 3 1/2"  & 6 1/2"
so both pieces resemble a Z

I have used Denise Boddey Day Dream Story Book - Dreams patterned paper.

I cut pieces
5 1/4" x 4"
2 @ 4" x 2 1/2"
3 1/4" x 3"
3" x 2 3/4"
4" x 3"

I also fussy cut the label with the florals attached from Denise Boddey ay Dream Story Book - Chapters patterned paper.

I used my Distress Tool and Black ink to distress the edges of all of the patterned papers.

The patterned papers are then attached to the two card panels.
I have used double sided tape but you could also use glue if you wish.

I attached the smaller piece of cardstock to the larger piece of cardstock by attaching a piece of 1/2" double sided tape at both ends of the 10 3/4" piece of cardstock and layering it on top of the other piece so the larger section, of the 10 3/4" piece, is on the top of the card and the right hand edge is approx 1/2" from the right hand edge of the bottom panel.

The fussy cut piece is attached to the 3 1/4" x 2 1/4" piece of cardstock.
This is then attached to the front of the card with sticky backed foam behind it.

The sentiment is a stamp from the Woodware Word Fragments stamp set. I have stamped with Versafine Embossing Ink and heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder.

Card No. 2

The cardbase for this card is Bazzill - Tutu Pink

I cut pieces
7" x 5 1/4" and 4" x 4"

I have scored and folded the 7" piece at 4 1/4" and the 4" piece at 1".

The smaller piece of cardstock is attached to the right hand edge of the larger piece so the fold butts up to the right hand edge and it is centred between the top and bottom of the card

I have cut pieces
5" x 4"
2 @ 2 1/2" x 5"
2 @ 2 3/4" x 3 3/4"

Once agin the edges have been distressed with my distressing tool and black ink.

The patterned paper is attached to the card panels using double sided tape.

To embellish this card I have cut Circle Frame Medium Chipboard in half and coated it with Gesso.
I attached the chipboard to the front of the card, next I layered a 4" strip if white lace and a fussy cut floral cluster from the same patterned paper.

The sentiment, once again came from the Woodware Word Fragments stamp set
It is attached to the front of the card with a piece of scrap chipboard behind it.

Final touch for this card was to add three drops of Nuvo Drops - Morning Dew
to the top and bottom of the left hand front panel.

Card No. 3

I have not made this style of card before.

It is a pocket with a decorated insert for your personal message or you could attach a gift card.

I have used a light green cardstock for this card.

I cut pieces
5 1/2" x 10 1/2" and 4 3/4" x 4 3/4"

I scored and folded the 10 1/2" piece at 5" and 10" on the long edge and 5" on the narrow edge
This is going to make a 5" square pocket

I cut the corner where the two fold lines meet out
and the bottom 1/2" folded section on the other section of the cardstock.
You can see this more clearly in my YouTube video.

I have added double sided tape to the side and bottom tabs and folded the pocket in half
using the tape to join the two sides together to form a pocket.

The patterned paper I am using for this card is Denise Boddey Designs - Elegance - Style

I cut
2 @ 4 3/4" x 4 3/4"
2 @ 4 1/2" x 4 1/2"

Once again the edges have been distressed.

The patterned papers are attached to the pocket and the insert with double sided tape.

Before adding the patterned paper to one side of the insert use liquid glue to attach a piece of lace to make it easier to take your tag in and out of the pocket.

I used a circle die to cut a part circle from the top of the pocket.
You could use a circle punch if you prefer.

To embellish the insert I fussy cut the castle from the patterned paper and attached it to the front.
The back is for your personal message and/or to attach a gift card.

To embellish the front of the pocket I used liquid glue
to attach 5 rows of lace to the bottom 3/4 of the pocket.

A piece of chipboard foliage, that has had a coat of Gesso, was layered onto of the lace
and a fussy cut floral piece was added on top of that.

I used Craft Barn- Primrose Stamp & Die set to cut the flower from the same patterned paper.

A good coat of Wink of Stella Clear added sparkle to the chipboard.

The sentiment is from Uniquely Creative.

So these are the three cards for today.

For more detail you can see me create these cards in this video

If you have any questions please leave them in the comments below and I will get back to you.

Mystical Scrapbooks April 2022 Cyber Crop

Good morning

My layout today is for the April Cyber Crop over at Mystical Scrapbooks. You will find the crop here.

This month the theme is colour palettes and for this particular challenge you can choose any colour you like but your project has to be monochromatic, meaning you can use any number of shades of your chosen colour with a minimal amount of black and white.

I have chosen pink for my colour.

I have chosen Uniquely Creative's Serendipity patterned papers to use today

I started with white cardstock for my background

I added Modelling Paste coloured with Starfish Glimmermist through TCW Two Hearts stencil.
This added a lot of pink to the background and minimised the white.

I splattered the background with Artiste Spritzing Ink in Black Night, Glimmermist Cherub Pink and Glimmermist Iridescent Gold

The final addition to the background was random stamping using Versafine Onyx Black Ink and Kazzaz Reason Season Lifetime, Kaisercraft Grid and Kaisercraft Numbers stamps.

I cut two strips of deep pink and two strips of pale pink cardstock to 1/2" x 12, inked the edges with my Versa Color Black Ink cube and attached them to each other with the light pink on top and about 1/4" of the dark pink showing above it.
I added a torn strip of pink washi tape to each of these strips and a pice of pink glitter washi layered on the first washi tape.

These were attached to the top and bottom of my page.

Time now to start with my patterned papers.

I cut:-
Serendipity - Adore - 10 1/2" x 2"
Serendipity - Providence 1 1/4" x 12" and 3/4" x 12",
I used the floral side for the 1 1/4" piece and the woodgrain side for the 3/4" piece

I inked the edges with my black ink cube

I used double sided tape to attach these to the centre of my layout, layering them on top of each other, widest paper on the bottom working up to the narrowest paper.

I also added two small strips of the glitter washi so they will poke out from
behind the photo when I attach it.

I am using a 6" x 4" photo, I have filed around the edge of the photo with an emery board before attaching it to a 6 1/4" x 4 1/4" piece of the dark pink cardstock.

To give my photo some lift I have added a piece of sticky backed craft foam before attaching it to the layout slightly above centre.

To embellish my layout I have fussy cut a doily from Serendipity - Carefree and selected several items from Uniquely Creative's Gums & Roses Creative Cuts pack.

I have inked the edges and attached them to my layout

The title is a tag from the Creative Cuts pack, I have added some pink ribbon and attached it to the layout with sticky backed craft foam behind it

Here is my process video if you would like to check out

Don't forget to check out the Cyber Crop, they are always fun and there are prizes to be won.

Design Team project for Mystical Scrapbook's April Challenge

Good morning to you,
how are you today?

Today I am sharing the layout I created using one of the two colour palettes
over at Mystical Scrapbooks for their April challenge.

This is the colour palette I am using

and here is my layout

I have used Uniquely Creative's The Story Garden papers for this layout.

I cut a 1" frame from a 12" piece of Character to create the page frame.

A piece of English Rose was trimmed to 11 1/2", the edges were inked using a
Versa Color black ink cube and the two papers were attached
to each other using double sided tape.

Using Cadence MU-13 Stencil and my palette knife I added Modelling Paste randomly to the background.

I used Gesso to coat a frame from Memory Maze's Junky Frames & Arrows chipboard set.
When this was dry I coloured it using Glimmermist, colour Starfish.

My photo is 5' x 7", I cut two mats for the photo,
one from Stories that is 5 1/2" x 7 1/2" and
one from Character that is 6" x 8".
I used an emery board to file around the edge of the photo
before inking around the edges of all of the layers and attaching them to each other.
I also added a layer of sticky backed craft foam to the photo panel

I fussy cut all of the elements from Marvellous and the Cut a Part sheet and inked the edges.

Time now to assemble my page

I added the chipboard first and then the photo.

I then played around with the placement of all of the fussy cut elements
and once I was happy with the layout I used my Art Glitter glue
to attach everything to the page.

I used a Uniball Eye black fineline pen to draw a scribbly border around my page
and write the date the photo was taken on one of the tabs at the top of the photo.

The title was cut from the Characters paper using my Apple Blossom Large Numbers & Suffixes die.

The title is attached at the bottom left of the photo.

A coat of Glossy Accents was added to the title and
the gold locket amongst the photo cluster at the bottom right of the photo.

A coat of Wink of Stella clear shimmer pen to all of the flowers finishes this layout.

Here is my process video if you would like to see this page come together.

I hope you enjoy watching it

As always I appreciate you spending part of your day here with me today
Till next time
