A very lazy day today. I went to yogalaties and then did nothing much except create this very simple layout as a demo piece for saturdays class at Camelot.

I have painted the chipboard with acrylic paint and the stamped it with Victorian Velvet Distress Ink, which you can hardly see, and then applied a couple of coats of UTEE to give it a nice high gloss

The photo was taken at Birdwook Rock and Roll Rendezvous in April 20111

The bell has just gone off on the steamer so its time for tea

And so the closing of a chapter (album). This is the final double layout for my Switzerland 2009 album.
I am looking forward to doing some non travel related pages for a while but then it is back to my 2011 trip to the UK and Switzerland.

We did not go out last night. Ray was feeling a bit warn out and still stiff and sore in the back so we decided to stay home. We may go out tonight for a while, depends what is on.

I spent the last couple of days in Niederweningen (an outer suburb of Zurich) at the home of Anne and Will's friends Madeleine and Heini. These last pages show their home, the car we had while we were there and a photo of the 5 of us. In the pocket, made using a printed transparency, under the large photo are my diary pages for the last few days and my return travel documents.

The postcard shown here under the photo was sent to my by Madeleine and Heini after I returned to Adelaide. I have put it on a hinge so I can still read the message on it.

Off to my class at Camelot this afternoon.

Ray had a car accident yesterday but luckily he seems to be OK. He was stopped at a stop light when a car hit him in the back pushing him into the 1 tonne ute in front of him. He was taken to hospital by ambulance and checked out but they assured us that there was no major damage and that he should recover fully in time. He has pain in his lower back and finds it a bit difficult to walk but tells me he is feeling a little better today than he was yesterday so I can only hope that he continues to improve.

This is the album I have been working on at Camelot for the last 2 saturdays. I gave it to my niece today as a gift for the birth of her daughter. The album hold 54 photos and measures 10" x 12". I am disappointed with the photographs. I took them last night, inside and they are very dull. The only one that is really colour true is the cover which I took outside today.

This album has been adjusted from instructions I purchased from Kathy Files at www.paperphenomenom.com
I found the original folio was a very tight fit and have adjusted some of the measurements to make it a little more "crafter friendly". I just loved this folio when I first saw it on youtube and have made quite a few of them now.

This is the front cover when the album is shut. I usually use ribbon to decorate the front but I could not find ribbon to match this paper so used cardstock instead. I have used Kaisercraft Secret Bird Society and Distracted paper ranges for this project.

When you open the covers you see a centre section that has 6 pockets. The pockets on the left have the photo mats on them and the ones on the right don't in this photo. Each of the pockets have a photo mat inside as well

The photo flap on each side opens out to reveal 3 pockets that have photo mats in them.

When you open the 2 sets of pockets in the middle it shows a large photo mat that will take a 7" x 5" Landscape photo. The mat on this looks crooked but it must be the angle of the photo or something as it is actually straight.

And the large photo mat opens up to show 3 more pockets that hold 6 more photo mats.

There is a lot of work in these albums but totally worth it I think

Today I spent the day at Camelot finishing off the album I started teaching last Saturday. The ladies who did the class are very pleased with the end result. It was a big job so I am very glad they love them.

A card I made yesterday for my niece who is having her first baby on Monday. It is one long piece of paper made with assorted folds to create the risen diamond shape at the front. To open it you pull the two outside edges away from each other. Very simple but quite effective.

Time for bed, I am well and truly ready for it.

First up a little bragging....

I have had another layout published in a magazine. This time in Australian Scrapbook Creations Issue 101.

This is the layout. The eyes of course belong to my beautiful granddaughter Charli

I have used some Imaginarium Designs chipboard as a stencil for the texture paste and then as a stamp on the background. I have used my Die-namics "Mix & Match Banner" die and my Spellbinders "Nested Lacey Pennants" die to cut the banner. The heart and the key have been painted with acrylic paint and then given a coat of Glossy Accents, then I attached them to the layout with embroidery floss. I printed the word "those" on adhesive printable transparency.

Enough of that for now although I must say I am pretty happy, I have had 3 layouts published in 3 different magazines the first time I have submitted to any of them.

I have been working on my Switzerland 2009 album.

This was one of the most enjoyable days of my holiday. I really enjoyed the whole experience of going up this mountain range. The cable car ride coming down was quite phenomenal. Hang Gliders were just jumping off the top of the mountain and gliding down. Very inspiring.

The three of us

The last 5 days of that trip I went to Paris with Anne. These are the pages I have finished so far on this leg of the journey. I must say that for the 5 days we were there we packed so much in. Going to 2 or 3 attractions on some days. Absolutely loved it.

This first layout shows scenes from Paris in general. We stayed in a hotel about 300metres from the Arc de Triomphe. It was very central and very handy.

All of the layouts have booklets under most of the photos to hold more photos, and each page has a pocket for excess photos and the page from my travel diary giving all the details of the day.

The Arc de Triomphe.

Eiffel Tower

Versailles. Spent a whole day here. Could have spent a week. Just huge.

Things are just about back to normal here. We have had various people staying with us since the 23rd August with the last one leaving yesterday.

Sunday today and what a beautiful day it is. Father's Day as well.

It has been a pretty lazy day for me today. Ray got up about 8ish and went for a ride on his motorbike with some friends and I slept in till about 9:30ish. I made up some laundry powder and some Miracle spray (used for cleaning the shower) then got into some scrapbooking.

We went to the Adelaide Rock and Roll Clubs Masquerade Party last night with our good friends Jan and Frank. The band was the Barstool Philosophers and Ray was the DJ. I really like this band and we had quite a few dances.

I have finished my latest double layout for my Switzerland 2009 album. I have used some texture paste to create the dots down the sides and made the embellishments using stamps and embossing powder

Well on to the next layout. I am up to the 5th May and my holiday finished on the 15th May so on the home stretch now.
