Live Fully Art Journal page

A quick share tonight before I head off on a 5 week holiday overseas.

This page was started ages ago and I can't really remember what was used on the background. I am going to start noting what is used when I do backgrounds from now on so I can always repeat it if I want to.

The pink flower in the top right hand is texture paste that has been coloured pink and applied through a stencil and the flowers in the bottom left hand are a paper napkin that has been attached to the page using Gel Medium.

I have used a Sharpie Fineliner for the black detailing on the paper napkin flowers and a white All pencil to shade a bit around the pink flower just to make it stand out from the background a little. The Live Fully title is a "Kaisercraft" stamp that was stamped with Stayzon Black ink. I did use my stamping platform because I knew I would not get a good stamp because of the textured background.

I used my fineliner bottle with some white acrylic paint to scribble a border around the page, re-trace the text in the title and add a little detail to the centres of the 2 flowers at the bottom of the page.

A reasonably quick page.

Happy Birthday Double Layout

Good Evening everyone

Tonight will be my last post for 5 weeks as I am heading off overseas and I don't know when or where I will have internet. I have made no arrangements to take internet with me and am going to rely on free WiFi when it is available.

This is a double layout I have made for my granddaughters yearly album to showcase the events on her birthday

Once again a very simple layout which I finds works best in this 8" x 8" album. In this first layout the photo is 7" x 5" so there is not much room for anything else.

The circles were cut out using a punch and an assortment of papers from the Kaisercraft "Party" paper pad I bought to use throughout this album.

A little scribbly line bordering the page finishes it off.

Year Five 2018 Layout

Good afternoon.

Each year I make an album for my granddaughter showing her year in review. Usually I hand-make the album but this year I decided to use an 8" x 8" scrapbooking album.

The first page of the album is always her school photo for the year. This is the first page for this year.

I started with a piece of white cardstock and applied some Texture Paste through Kaisercraft's Script stencil. When this was dry I took a blending tool and lightly applied some Broken China Distress Ink randomly onto the background.

I am using a paper pad from Kaisercraft called "Party" for this whole album.
The die for the die cut piece below the photo is from Magnolia.
The butterfly 3D sticker is from The Craft Stall.

"Unique" Art Journal Page

Good Afternoon

Today I am sharing an Art Journal page I have just finished.

This page has been in the making for ages, I did the background months ago and it has just been sitting around waiting for me to do something with it. There is another background just like it waiting to be "loved"

This is the completed page

To give you an idea of what I started with this is the page that has the same background that is waiting for me to finish it off. There is a lot of texture in there.

Because the background was quite dark and busy I swiped over it with some white Gesso to lighten it up in the hope that the flowers would stand out more.

The flowers were stamped onto watercolour paper using Stayzon Ink and then coloured using an assortment of permanent markers

These were then attached to the page using Gel Medium, I found that the Gel medium dulled the colour. Don't know weather that was because I put it on too thickly or a normal consequence of using Gel Medium over markers. To fix this I went over the flowers with my Big Brush Markers because I know that once they are dry they will not move.

I then added the stems, a bit of shading and some detail. For the detailing I used a Fude Ball 1.5 pen and a Mitsubishi UB245 black fine pen.

I then stamped the "Unique" title using Stayzon Ink.

To finish off I did some stamping with Gold ink and the same flower stamps, along with a circle stamp in Yellow and Blue. I then framed the page with my Black Big Brush Marker and a gold pen.

Here is a close up for a little bit of the detail.

ARRC 21st Birthday Layout

Good Afternoon

The inspiration for this layout came from Pinterest. Oh how I love Pinterest, there is soooo much to see there. Unfortunately, lately, I have spent more time looking at everyone else's lovely work and not doing any myself. It is so easy to do isn't it.

The photo's on this layout were taken in one of those photo booths that you often see around and each  photo block has 4 photos on it.

The papers are from a pack I bought but I have thrown the original packaging away and do not know what brand it is.

I have definitely got a thing for banners.
