pretty pink colour from avocados

So here is a video showing what I coloured
Hope you enjoy it

Using Paint on a Layout

Hi there

The focal product at Mystical Scrapbooks this month is paint
so I decided to create a layout using paint in different ways

I have dry brushed five colours of paint onto white cardstock to create the background

Then I stippled paint through a Colour Blast - Love and Grace stencil to add a little interest

I have used patterned papers from Uniquely Creatives Country Roads and Bella! Wedding

I have painted chipboard and also heat embossed chipboard.

The title is cut from black cardstock using an alpha die with a coat of Glossy Accents

A scribbly border was drawn around the layout using a black pen.

Here are a few suggestions of ways you could use paint on your projects:-

Paint metal embellishments
Colour chipboard
Apply through a stencil
Water down and use as a wash
Blending and shading
On Acetate
On Velum
Dry brushing
Layering
Add sand or other to give the paint texture
Stipple
Splatter
Apply with a palette knife
Detailing using a fine brush or paint pen
Add a watered down coat to loud patterned paper to tone it down
Colour your Texture/Modelling paste
Stamp using Foam Stamps
Heat emboss over paint

Here is my process video showing how I have used paint on this layout

Would love to hear of ways that you use paint on your projects.

Till next time

Mystical Scrapbooks September Cyber Crop

Hi there

Today I am sharing may DT project for the
September Cyber Crop at Mystical Scrapbooks

This is the inspiration for my challenge

 A few Little Golden Books.
These books remind me of my childhood,
reading, playing "schools" with my sisters and all things family I guess.

The inspiration I took from this picture was the foliage on the cover of the Snow White book,
the yellow, green and blue colours and I have used a photo of one of my sisters,
 bringing in the family connection.

I have used 49 and Market - Curator Botanical papers for this layout

On 1/3rd of the white cardstock background I have added Iridescent Medium (a sparkly Texture Paste) through Kaisercraft's Leaves stencil, I mean every fairytale has to have some sparkle doesn't it?

From the collection pack I cut
Botanical Records to 3" x 12"
Natural History to 5" x 12"
Garden Clippings 7" x 8"

I also used Kaisercraft - Pear Tree - Nightingale to matt my photo
and add a 3/4" torn strip between the patterned papers.

The embellishments are very sparse as I felt the layout had enough on it.

A couple of die cuts from Sizzix Wildflowers #2 and a butterfly from
the Ephemera Bits pack were enough for me.

The title is die cut from black cardstock using my Kaisercraft DD700 Alphabet Upper Case dies

To finish my page off I added a coat of Glossy Accents to the title and the
butterfly embellishment

Here is my process video
I hope you enjoy watching my layout come together

So why not pop over to Mystical Scrapbooks
and join in with the Cyber Crop, there are prizes to be won.

As always, thank you for being here

Off the Rails Scrapbooking September Challenge

Good morning

The challenge over at Off The Rails Scrapbooking this month is Black & White.

Instead of a scrapbooking layout I have created a set of three Black and White cards.

I have stamped a background stamp then heat embossed onto velum for this card.
The heat embossing looks a bit creamy in this photo but it is white in real life.

This card has a die cut layered onto several pieces of cardstock.

For this card I have heat embossed the flowers onto the background.
A fussy cut flower is layered onto a die cut black cardstock diamond.

These are all simple and easy cards to make.
You can see my process video below.

I hope you enjoyed my video

September Challenge for Mystical Scrapbooks

Good morning, good morning

Today I am sharing my DT layout for Mystical Scrapbooks.

The theme for this month is "Favourite Books"
I have used "Little Women" as my inspiration for this layout.
The challenge also requires you to use paint on your layout.

I have used Kaisercraft Pale Beige paint through a stencil on the white cardstock background for the first way I have used paint.

Next I watered down some rust coloured paint and painted that behind the photo position,
sprayed it with some water and let the paint run down the page.
I also added splatters for the second and third ways I have use paint.

Once all of this was dry I used my Uniquely Creative Floral Text stamp and black ink
to stamp around the area where my photo will be.

I tore the edges of my background cardstock and added it to a sheet of rust coloured cardstock.
I then used my sewing machine to stitch around the page and randomly on the page.

The 6" x 4" photo of my sister, has the edges filed with an emery board
before being matted onto a piece of the same coloured cardstock as I used for the background frame.

The patterned paper is form 49 and Markets Curator Botanical paper pack.
This particular paper is called Botanical - Flutterology

I cut 3 strips each 2" wide and tore the edges.

One I had torn them to the length I wanted,
I inked all of the edges with my Versa Colour black ink cube
and attached them to the background.

The photo was attached next with a layer of cardboard behind it.

The embellishments came from the Ephemera Bits for this collection.

The title was cut from black cardstock using one of my alpha dies.

The title and the butterfly bodies have a coat of Dimensional Magic to finish this layout off.
