Us layout

Hello from Geelong.

We are here for a few days house sitting. I have been to the Kaisercraft Outlet, Lincraft and Spotlight and will definitely be taking home more that I bought over with me. Just as well we are in the car and not flying.

Before we left I made up a few kits so I would have some scrap-booking to do while I am here.
This is the first layout.

I have used SEI papers from both Juliette and Poppy ranges, some vellum with gold hearts under the "Us" title and the embellishments are the Vintage Escape range from Aldi. Plenty of doodling to define the various papers.

The photo was taken about 2 years ago, Cindy gave me a photo shoot with a professional photographer for mother's Day and this is one of the photos from that day.

Charli's Book 2017

Good morning

Today I am sharing the rest of Charli's book.

There are 22 pages so this is going to be a very long, photo heavy post.

95% of the papers used in this album are Kaisercraft Too Cool for School or Class Act

On this first page I generally place her school photo for the year.
The inside cover has a corner pocket for a photo mat.
The pennants on the opposite page are made using heat embossing and a CRE8TIVE stamp.

This page has a 4 section waterfall mat with a magnetic closure and a wooden embellishment
The opposing page has a vertical pocket covered with tulle. I stamped the Prima "Betty" stamp twice, once on cream cardstock and once on patterned paper and heat embossed it to assemble the girl then added the lace daisies to the hemline

A simple bottom pocket on this page decorated with some patterned paper, die cuts, ric rac, buttons and a burlap flower.
The opposing page is a pocket made by sticking two pages together then cutting the top off on a diagonal. I then added some patterned paper to create a pocket for another photo mat

The back of the pocket got the same treatment with patterned paper making another pocket.
The opposite page has a belly band with a bottom stop made from a couple of die cuts. The flowers that decorate the band are made from Kaisercraft DD 707 die and Leane Creative 006 flower die.

A simple punched edge vertical pocket decorated with some patterned paper and a chipboard embellishment for the left hand page and a fold out photo mat with another chipboard embellishment that opens out to show another photo mat mounted on some patterned paper on the rights. The paper clips are made by hot glueing an embellishment to a coloured paper clip.

The right hand page hold a fold out booklet which opens top and bottom and left and right providing space for 5 photos all tied up with a pretty ribbon.
On the left I have used a printed transparency as the pocket and decorated it once again with flowers made with the Leane Creative 006 flower die.

A simple bottom pocket layered with another piece of cardstock making a double pocket which is decorated with ribbon and die cuts create the left hand page. For the right I have used a brad to attach two photo mats to the top right of the page allowing them to swivel.

A top pocket created with die cut pennants and the same stamped and embossed pennants used on an earlier page. Hearts that have been cut on my Scan N Cut and embossed with Cuttlebug dots embossing folder hold the photo mat in place. Once again a vertical pocket with pattern paper and a cut paper heart and chipboard embellishment provide space for the photo mats on right hand page

Between this next page and the previous page is a full page side opening pocket that is holding a photo mat. You can see it poking out on the left hand side of this photo with the yellow edge strip.
Three squares placed on the diagonal and mounted with foam tape create the pocket to hold the photo mats in place for the left hand page. In hindsight, I would probably use 4 or 5 squares here so the mats do not tip towards the centre of the book.
On the right a top pocket made with patterned paper and a punched edge hold the photo mats while a die cut made with Tim Holtz Ornate die decorates the bottom of the page

A double layer diagonal pocket decorated with journalling cards, pennants, a stamped and embossed circle and a chipboard owl painted with acrylic paint create places for at least two photo mats on this left hand page.
On the right I have made a little booklet that opens out to the right giving room for 3 photos. It is simply decorated with a strip of patterned paper at the top and bottom and a gold cardboard bow. Some patterned paper and bling decorate the bottom of the page

On this last double page I have fixed a large photo mat to some patterned paper. A strip of patterned paper decorated with die cut hearts (Kaisercraft DD342) and a shaker star filled with gold glitter decorate the top. The inside cover is covered with patterned paper, a journalling card and die cut are attache on the outside edge to hold a couple of photo mats. The decoration is a set of wooden stars that have been sprayed with Glimmermist and had a gem added in the middle.

The back cover is covered with the same paper that is used on the font cover.

Wow.....long post. If you have stuck with me till the end Thank You

Hope you like my book.

Front Cover of Charli's Book 2017

Hi there

I am here today to share with you the front cover of Charli's book.

Charli is my 9 year old grand-daughter and each year I make a book or similar to showcase her year both at school and general life.

This year I decided to repurpose and old hard cover novel that I bought from the op-shop. This book is approx 9.5" x 6"

This is the front cover which is very simple.

The patterned paper is by Bo Bunney. Because the pattern is so busy and bright I opted to add just the one flower, some washi and her name and the year.

The alphas are an old Kaisercraft Alpha Sticker (Fairy Floss) that I have painted with Black acrylic paint and then given a coat of Dimensional Magic. I love the effect of that stuff.

I will share more pages with you next week.

Buildings Art Journal Page

Hi there.

I am at a stand still with this page.

I don't know what to add next and it definitely needs something.
I was thinking of some hot air balloons but because I have got the brown building I think colourful hot air balloons with take the page over. I then thought I would redo the buildings in colours and then add the balloons, that is where I stand at the moment.

Any suggestions gladly received.

Scrapbooking Layout March 2017

Today I am sharing a layout that was partly inspired by a layout on Pinterest in as much as it had paper circles on the background cardstock.

I decided to take this one step further and emboss the circles and ink them lightly to give some added dimension.

The background cardstock is Basic Grey euphoria/shimmer. It has white stylised circles on a light white, pink and blue background. As I wanted a bit of purple in the layout I gave a light spray with Glimmermist Fully Purple here and there.

I used my Scan Cut to cut out a full page of various sized circles and then ran them through my Big Shot with Kaisercraft Roses embossing folder. I then inked the edges and lightly brushed over the top surface to highlight the embossed pattern with VersaMark Lilac ink pad. The circles were then glued randomly all over the background. This was then finished off with a few Glimmermist splatters using Black Magic and Starfish

All of the patterned papers and embellishments are from a 6.5" x 6.5" Secret Garden paper pad by Kaisercraft, except the flowers which are PortaCraft brand.

Scan N Cut, Kaisercraft, Basic Grey, Glimmermist, VersaMark, embossing, Big Shot, flowers, circles

This is the inspiration piece

Love the stitched circles in the background Study with Jillibean Soup:

It's not very often I have a photo of me that I like, so when one of my friends gave me this photo I thought I should put it to good use.

Art Journal Page It Just Blooms

Hi there

A quick post today before I start my scrapbooking class.

This is another one of those backgrounds I did some time ago that have been waiting to be finished off.

The background has texture paste through a stencil and twine wrapped around it from the page on the other side.  I used my Semco Pearlescent water paints on the background and it has a lovely pearly sheen to it. Next, some random stamping with StayzOn Ink and a couple of different stamps.

I have had these porcelain flowers for about 20 years and decided that I wanted to use them. I had some metal stands, a dragonfly and leaves so attached them with Gel Medium and coloured them with the same water colours.

Next I arranged the flowers and stuck them on with my hot glue gun.

I lightly applied some ink to the flowers just on the edges to give it a bit of dimension then I brushed some Glimmermist in corresponding colours over all the flowers. I also brushed some Gold Artiste Spritzing Ink on the stands to give them a metallic look.

I used my Faber-Castelle Big Brush Markers to shade around the stands and flowers so they look more connected with the page. The leaves and dragonfly also got a bit of shading with the markers.

I wanted to give the page a slight border without being too definite so I applies some dark pink ink around the edges then a small amount of black.

The title was printed on tissue paper and attached using Matt Gel Medium.

Hope you like my page and maybe leave me a comment

Till next time

Red Bloom Art Journal Page

Some time ago I did a heap of backgrounds, so I thought I would start on one of them and finish it off.
I saw a picture on Pinterest which was done with fabric but I thought I would do it with paper.

This my page

Art Journal, texture, embossing,Magicals, Colour Crush, flowers, metals, stamping

and this is the picture from Pinterest

The background started with a coat of Gesso then some texture paste through a stencil. I had a heap of little metal cog that I stuck on next with Gel Medium and then lots of cotton.

When that was all dry I used Tilby Colour Crush powders, pineapple, blood orange and wheat green sprinkled on then sprayed with water to colour the page.

Around the edge I have stamped with one of the stamps from Dylusions Further Round the Edges stamp set and Stayzon ink.

The flower is made from some canvas paper that has been coloured using Lindy Stamp Gang Magicals then cut into spikey shapes and stuck onto the background in a circular pattern. I then went over the edge of all the petals with my Faber-Castelle Big Brush marker in black to give it some definition.

The flower centre is two circles of cardstock embossed then sprayed with some Artiste Spritzing ink in Gold. Once again I went round the edge of these circles with my Big Brush marker.

I did try stamping some leaves from the same stamp set on the background but because it is so textured they did not turn out so well.

A scribbly line around the edge of the page with a Bic Mark It black pen and I have called it finished.

I probably should add a word or title of some kind but that might happen on another day.

Till next time
Cheers
