Denise Boddey DT Four page album

Hi there

Today's post is about a mini album I created using Denise Boddey's

Day Dream Story Book paper range.

I have a video that I will add at the bottom of this post.

To create this album you need 4 sheets of 12" x 12" patterned paper.

The paper I have used is double sided.

If you make this album you could add as many pages as you wish

The papers I used are Dreams, Day Dream, Our Story and Princess for a Day.

For each page:-

score at 6" with the paper right way up,

flip to the left and score at 9" (this will be at the bottom of the page)

Select the paper you want for the front cover,

use glue to attach the back outside panel of this paper to the front outside of the next panel.

Continue doing this until all pages are attached.

If you prefer you could only glue around the edges of each page and create pockets between each page.

I cut a piece of patterned paper 1" x 9" to create the spine cover.

Next I used my corner rounder on the top and bottom outside edges of each page.

Run a small bead of glue along the outside edges of the pocket on each page.

You could run glue along the centre fold too if you prefer.

I used Vintage Photo Distress Ink and my distressing tool to ink around the edges 

of each page and pocket edges

I created eight tags to go into the pockets.

I used 300gsm white cardstock to create the tags, they measure 4 1/2" x 8 1/2".

The patterned paper has been cut to 4 1/4" x 8 1/4".

I inked the edges and attached the patterned paper to the front of the tag.

I added an eyelet to the top of each tag using my Crop O Dial and

added some white seam binding through the eyelet.

Using my Big Shot I die cut flowers using patterned paper and pale pink velum 

and Couture Creations CO724161 die.

I cut some leaves using Honey Bee's Lovely Layers Heart Vine and Uniquely Creative Little Leaves dies

Using Uniquely Creative Island Texture die and the same papers/velum I cut some background fillers

Other embellishments I used were lace and gauze/cheese cloth and Ali Lattice chipboard panel

You will see the embellishing in the video.

I hope you try making this little album. 

It is easy to make, a good size and can be changed and embellished in so many ways.

Booklet for Cinderella Junk Journal

Good morning

I have created a Junk Journal using a Cinderella Little Golden Book

This project is a booklet to go into a pocket in that journal.

I have used two pieces of white cardstock measuring 12" x 8 1/2"

Fold each piece in halves one way, open the paper and fold in half the other way

this will give you a 12" x 8 1/2" piece that has four sections.

With the 12" edge at the bottom, cut up to the centre fold line on the short fold line.

Do this to both pieces of cardstock.

With the cut section at the bottom, fold so the two short edges are together.

Fold the two bottom sections up to create a 6" x 4 1/4" section.

Glue the double section along the edges to create a top loading pocket.

To join the two sections together apply glue to the top, bottom and one long edge

 to the back section of one booklet and attach this to the front of the other booklet.

I cut a piece of patterned paper 6 1/4" x 8 3/4" and wrapped this around the booklet. 

I attached it with glue, making sure there was no glue attached to the spine area.

I created tags using plain pink cardstock.

I added tabs that I punched from the same patterned paper I used for the cover, 

using my McGill File Tab 3" Punch

There are lots of areas for journalling in this booklet.

One Page Wonder for Denise Boddey Designs

Good morning

Today I want to share a great little one sheet wonder using 

Denise Boddey Daydream Story Book - Dream

Cut your sheet into 2 pieces 6" x 12"

Score each piece at 5" and 10"

Use a corner rounder on the two corners of the 2" section

Use double side tape or glue to attach one of the 2" sections 

to the outside front of the second piece applying tape/glue to two sides and the bottom.

It is easy to see this process in the video which is below

I used my Crop-O-Dial to add an eyelet to the 2" section on the right hand end of the folder.

I threaded ribbon through the eyelet and wrapped it around the album

 a couple of times and tied a bow.

I made an assortment of embellishments for this album

Denise Boddey DT album flip through

 Good morning

Today I want to share a mini album I created using Denise Boddey Designs Elegance patterned papers.

The album started life as an accordion album.

I altered the album by adding a spine and assorted flaps, pockets and a hand made envelope.

You can see that video here

All of the papers have had the edges distressed using my distressing tool 

and then inked with a VersaColor black ink cube.

Each page has a top opening pocket with a photo mat.

I have also used some velum, made some flowers using Craft Barn Stamp/Die set 

and created the tags for the album using Uniquely Creatives Tags Tops & Tails.

Lace from my stash helps to decorate the front of the album.

Altering an Accordion Album so it has a spine

Hi there.

A very quick post today sharing a video showing how I altered an 

accordion album I purchased a Cheap As Chips.

I have used my We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board to create an envelope 

to add to the album

I have also added flaps, tags, booklets and pockets.

Design Team Project for Mystical Scrapbooks December Challenge

Hi there

Thanks for joining me today.

This project is created for the December challenge at Mystical Scrapbooks.

There are two challenge for the month and this particular challenge

 is to create a Christmas project using non-traditional Christmas colours.

This can be a layout, cards, mini album or any other project you would like to make.

I have created a mini album to hold our photos of Christmas Day.

 

I saw an album created in this fashion by Heidi Swamp several years ago.

She used her pre-printed cards but they are smaller than I wanted my album to be.

I wanted my album to be able to hold 6" x 4" photos without any trimming.

If you use her pre-printed cards you don't need to add the patterned paper.

I have used purchased 5" x 7" pre-folded white card bases.

The patterned paper I used for this album is Cocoa Vanilla's Sunkissed, 

a nice bright cheery collection that reflects the lovely warm/hot 

Christmases we have here in Australia

To start I trimmed 10 of the patterned papers to 4 3/4" x 6 3/4"

inked around the edges with my Versacolor black ink cube and 

attached them to both panels on the inside of the card bases.

There is no patterned paper on the outside of the card bases.

To join all of the cards together and create the album I ran 

a row of double sided tape around the two long sided and the bottom short side.

Carefully lay one card on top of the other ensuring you have the cards lined up perfectly.

If they are not lined up exactly your album may be a little wonky.

Do this for all 5 cards.

By doing this you create a pocket between each page of your album.

I then took it to my sewing machine and stitched where

I had applied the tape. This is optional but it does strengthen the album.

I cut two piece of the patterned paper 5" x 7" to cover the front and back of my album.

The spine for the album is a piece of POW Gold Glitter cardstock that I cut to 1 1/2" x 7" 

and folded around the spine of the album. I have attached it to the back and front

 covers using liquid glue. Do not put any glue on the centre section of the spine.

I created a tag to go inside each (4) of these pockets

I cut four pieces of white cardstock 4" x 6 1/4"

I cut four pieces of patterned paper 3 3/4" x 6", inked the edges

and attached them to the cardstock.

Next I stamped a journalling panel onto white cardstock and cut the panel out.

This was then attached to the tag on top of the patterned paper.

This is actually the back of the tag, I have left the front plain so I can attach my photo.

To create a pull tab for the tags I stamped and clear heat embossed the 

Tree and Bauble from Kaisercraft Sparkle stamp set 

onto white cardstock and then fussy cut them out.

I created four of each shape so I could attach then to both the front and back of the tag. 

You will need to choose a symmetric shape for this.

I used liquid glue to attache these as it gives me a little time to make sure they are perfectly lined up.

I have kept the inside of the album pretty plain as I did not want too much bulk.

Each opening has one plain page with a little journalling tab and 

one page with a pocket and a flat, simple embellishment.

the Wooden Flourish pack from the same collection

I painted the "25" with Kaisercraft Dusty Pink acrylic paint

The banner on this page is from the collectables pack 

and the cut apart is from the paper stack

These embellishments came from a pack I purchased from our local cheap shop.

The tab on the left page is another cut apart from the paper stack 

and the poinsettia (this is a similar die) was die cut from the patterned paper.

To embellish the cover I cut two more of the poinsettias,

painted two Christmas trees from the Wooded Flourish Pack with the same Dusty Pink paint,

the banner is from the Collectables pack and the 

title is cut using Tim Holtz Inside Out Alpha die. 

I have not added the year, I will do that when I use the album.

The centres of the poinsettias are Pops of Colour Glitter Champagne

KS4U August Mini Album

Good morning

A quick post today to share with you the flip through video of the mini album I made using my DT supplies from KS4U.

Flower alert - there are a lot of hand made flowers in this album.

I have used Basic Grey's Indian Summer 6" paper pad to decorate this album

The flowers were made using Cheery Lyn B311 Chrysanthemum Strip

and Couture Creations CO724161 Flower dies. 

The leaves were cut using Uniquely Creative's Little Leaves die.

The chipboard was given a coat of White acrylic paint and then sprayed with 

Docraft's Spritzing Ink in Gold
