Kraft Supplies 4 U Album Cover

 Good morning

In today's post I am sharing the cover of an album I created using the beautiful products that were in my November DT kit from KS4U. (Kraft Supplies 4 U)

I saw a tutorial on Scrap Queen's YouTube channel and used that to create this album.

The beautiful soft tassel on the album spine is attached to the album using a gold chain and a black diamantie brad. I also added a gold charm to the chain.

The black flower braid, white cotton lace and pink ribbon are all attached to the cover using hot glue.

I stamped the pink, blue and white flowers twice each, using a Hero Arts stamp set, they were then fussy cut and shaped before being layered on top of each other. A gem was then placed in the centre of each flower.

These paper flowers were clustered with some netting flowers and skeletal mesh leaves and also attached with hot glue.

I stamped the butterfly twice and layered one on top of the other, slightly off setting them.

A bow from the same ribbon that is used for the album closure was added to the flower cluster.

Three glass bubbles that have gold Stickles applied to the back finish this cluster off.

Mystical Scrapbooks November Challenge

 Hi friends

Today I am sharing the cards and tag I made for the November challenge over at Mystical Scrapbooks.

The theme for November is Cards & Gifts and my challenge is to create a set of three cards, one of which must be a shaker card. They can be for any occasion but I have chosen to make mine Christmas themed.

I have used Uniquely Creative's Holly Jolly Christmas 6" paper pad for all of these cards/tags.

Lets start with this card

I used a laminating pouch and some glitter to create the glitter acetate the is the front of this card. You can see how I did this in this video

The card base is a piece of white 240gsm cardstock that I cut to 8 1/8" x 6". This was scored at 2" and 4 1/16" along the 8 1/8" edge. I folded it in half at the 4 1/16" score mark and then the front of the card was folded back onto itself at the 2" score mark.

I cut a piece of the laminate so it was 3 3/4" x 6" and attached that to the front of the card so the right hand edges were level

I selected the red/green plaid patterned paper and a green checked paper to embellish this card.

The red/green plaid paper was cut to 1 3/4" x 5 3/4", 1 7/8" x 5 3/4", 1 1/2" x 5 3/4" and 7/8" x 5 3/4".

The green check was cut to 1 1/2" x 5 1/2"

These papers were then added to the card base with the 1 3/4" piece being on the front, the 1 7/8" pieces being on the inside front, the 1 1/2" piece on the left of the inside back and the 7/8" piece on the right hand inside back.

The tag was cut from the Holly Jolly Christmas - Gifts paper and the tree and greeting are from the Creative Cuts.

I fussy cut around the tree to remove the white border and used foam to attach it to the card.

Next card

This is my shaker card which must be included for the challenge.

The base for this card is Tim Holt Kraft-Core which I cut to 5 1/4" x 10 1/2", scored and folded at 5 1/4" to make a 5 1/4" square card.

I also cut a piece of white cardstock 5" square

I used Couture Creations Candy Cane die to cut two candy canes in the white panel.

I attached a piece of clear acetate to the back of this panel, then made two boxes around the candy canes with high tac foam tape. Foam tape was also added to the top and bottom edges of this panel so that when it was attached to the card base the edges would be supported.

The shaker sections were filled with Dress My Crafts's Frosted Sugar Powder. I put two little piles of this on my card front and then attached the white panel on top of them.

I used the same candy cane die to cut two candy canes from Gold mirror board and attached them to the front of the card to add the detail.

I used the same green paper that I used on the previous card. One piece was cut to 5" x 1 1/4" and attached to the top of the card and the other piece is 5" x 3/4" and is attached to the bottom of the card.

I die cut some stars from the gold mirror board using my Nellie's Multi Frame Star die and attached them to the bottom of the card.

A greeting was selected from the Creative Cuts and added to the top section of the card front.

Because the inside of the card is kraft in colour I added a piece of white cardstock that is 3" x 5" to the right hand edge of the inside back and a piece of the green check that is 2" x 5" to the inside left of the card back. A 1/4" x 5" piece of the gold mirror board covers the join. A circular "Merry Christmas" piece from the Creative Cuts finishes the inside of the card.

Card number three

This card has a transparent panel in the front.

I used the same cardstock for this card base as I used for the previous card.

I cut a piece 7 1/4" x 5 1/4" (score this at 2" on the 7 1/4" edge) and a piece 1 1/4" x 5 1/4".

The acetate for the front panel was cut to 3" x 5 1/4". This was attached to the front short panel (2" section) with glue and then the bottom panel was attached in the same way ensuring that the bottom edge of the front lined up with the bottom edge of the back.

I cut some antique gold cardstock to 1 1/4" x 5" and 1" x 5" and attached these to the outside of the card.

I chose a pale green cardstock from the paper pack and cut that to 1 1/2" x 4 3/4" and 3/4" x 4 3/4" and layered them on top of the gold.

There is a paper in the pack that has many small poinsettia on it, I fussy cut some of those and attached them randomly to the green panels with foam squares. A dab of gold Stickles to the centre of the poinsettia added a bit of bling to the card.

To embellish the clear panel I used Wow Mini Christmas Tree chipboard. 

I heat embossed them with some Antique Gold embossing powder and added them to the clear panel using Art Glitter Glue which has dried completely invisibly. Perhaps next time I make this card I will heat emboss both sides of the Christmas trees.

A sequin from the 28 Lilac Lane Velvet sequin pack was added tot the top of each tree for a bit of colour and sparkle.

The gold of the Christmas trees, did not stand out very well against the kraft inside the card so I added a 5" square piece of white cardstock to the inside back of the card.

I had a few fussy cut poinsettia left so I added them to the bottom left of the white cardstock. 

I chose a sheet of the paper (it was actually the front of the paper pack) that has all of the poinsettia on it and cut three strips, 1 3/4" x 5", 1" x 5" and 3/8" x 5". The two larger pieces were attached to the inside front of the card and the smallest piece was added to the inside back about 1/4" from the top.

The greeting was selected from the Creative Cuts pack and attached to the inside back. I think I should have attached it higher up so it did not show through the clear front panel but by the time I noticed it the glue had dried and I couldn't move it.

Bonus Tag

I cut a piece of white cardstock 3 1/4" x 4 1/2" and cut two corners to create the tag base.

This was basically made from the scraps of patterned paper I had laying on my desk. The gold piece is 2" x 4 3/8", the green piece is 5/8" x 4 3/8" and the red is 1 1/4" x 4 3/8"

I used my Crop-O-Dial to add a black eyelet to the top of the tag then threaded some "Merry Christmas" ribbon, from many years ago, through the eyelet.

I cut a piece of white cardstock 2 1/4" x 3 1/4" and a piece of patterned paper 2" x 3" and layered them together. I added foam to the back of this panel.

I attached a piece of gold mesh to the tag and then added the panel on top of that.

The sentiment is from the Uniquely Creative Mini Cut Apart sheet.

Kraft Supplies 4 U Christmas Cards 2

Good morning,

Today I am sharing a set of 4 Christmas cards that I made using supplies in my October Design Team kit from Kraft Supplies 4 U.

All of the stamped images are from a Recollections Christmas stamp set that was in the kit.

All of the greetings (except one) are from a computer generated sheet with a selection of greetings in assorted fonts and sizes.

All of the papers have their edges inked with a VersaColour Black ink cube.

Card No 1

The card base for this first card is 5 1/4" square.

The layers of paper from the bottom up are 5" square, 4 1/2" square and 4 1/4" square. The strip of patterned paper just in from the left hand edge of the blue patterned paper is 3/8" x 4 1/4".

The Santa image is heat embossed using Ranger Embossing Antiquities Cobalt embossing powder. Once it was fussy cut I attached it to the card front using foam tape.

Card No. 2

This card base is also 5 1/4" square.

The patterned papers decrease in size from the bottom layer. The sizes are 5"square, 4 3/4" square,  and 4 1/2" square.

The lime strip that goes across the front of the card is 5" x 2 3/4"

The baubles were fussy cut from patterned paper.

I used EK Success Dimensional Stickers-Scallop Dotted Icing Borders across the top of the lime panel.

Using a black fine pen I drew lines from the sticker to the baubles and then attached the baubles to the card using chipboard off cuts.

This is the only card that uses a different greeting, this greeting was on the branding strip of the patterned paper I was using.

I gave the baubles two coats of Clear Wink of Stella and a dab of gold Stickles on each up section of the sticker.

Card 3

This card is a Z fold card that is 5 1/4" square. I cut the card 10 1/2" x 5 1/4" and scored at 2 5/8" and 5 1/4". Fold the card in half at the 5 1/4" score mark and then fold the top section back on itself at the 2 5/8" score mark.

The red patterned paper is cut to 5" square and 2 pieces 2 3/8" x 5". The front green panel is made using 2 x 4" squares that are then attached to each other with d/sided tape.

I added a strip of patterned paper to the inside of the card. This piece measures 5" x 2"

I have distressed the edges of all of the patterned papers with my Prima distressing tool before inking

The images have been heat embossed with Gold Superfine embossing powder. To colour the images I used my water brush and Distress inks in Fired Brick, Festive Berry & Black Soot. I also used Encore Gold ink for some of the smaller details.

Card 4

This is the only card that is not square. I have cut an A4 sheet of cardstock in half creating a card that measures 4 1/8" x 5 7/8"

The paper layers measure 3 7/8" x 5 5/8", 3 5/8" x 5 3/8" and the green strip is 2" x 5 3/8"

The reindeer was heat embossed with black Stamp-It Superfine Detail embossing powder. This was then fussy cut and attached to the card using foam tape. 

To finish the reindeer off I added a heart shaped sequin to the nose.

Kraft Supplies 4 U October Design Team project

 Hi

Today I want to share with you three Christmas cards I have created using some of the products I got in my October DT kit from Kraft Supplies 4 U

As usual there is a process video which you can see here.

All of the patterned papers are from Kaisercraft's Starry Night 6 1/2" paper pad.

This first card is one of the slimline cards that are so popular at the moment. It is 4" x 8 1/4" 

I used two Christmas Baubles from Kaisercraft's Merry Christmas stamp set and VersaMark ink to stamp on to white cardstock. Then I heat embossed the baubles with Ranger's Antiquities embossing powder in Cobalt.

These were then fussy cut, a piece of crochet cotton threaded through the hole in the top and attached with a piece of cardboard behind them to the piece of silver paper that I had cut to 3 1/2" x 7 3/4"

The silver paper was then attached to a piece of Navy cardstock that measures 8" x 3 3/4". This was attached to the card base with foam tape.

The greeting is a stamp from Kaisercraft's Doodled Christmas stamp set which I have heat embossed with the same embossing powder that I used for the baubles.

I have used Stampendous Frantage Pearlized Mica Fragments to create the focal embellishments for the second card.

One of the protective papers was removed from half a sheet of Jac paper (double sided sticky sheet). I used my fingers to firmly rub the flakes onto the sticky sheet. 

Once the sheet was covered I used my Christmas tree die (brand unknown) to cut the three trees I wanted to attach to the card.

My Big Shot did not have any problem cutting through the flakes.

The card base was cut 5 1/4" x 10 1/2" from Kaisercraft Navy cardstock and folded in half to create a 5 1/4" square card.

The layer of light coloured patterned paper is 5" square and the dark patterned paper is 4 3/4" square.

The silver panel that goes across the card is 5 1/4" x 3" and the Navy panel is 5 1/4" x 2 3/4"

All of the edges of the layers have been distressed and inked.

The two bottom layers of the card are attached using double sided tape, the silver layer is mounted on cardboard before being added to the card and the navy piece and the Christmas trees are attached using glue.

The greeting is a Rub On from Kaisercraft's Merry Christmas rub on set. I attached it to a piece of white cardstock and then attached that to the card with a piece of cardboard behind it

For the last card I have used a couple of Glass Bubbles. To help these clear glass bubbles stand out I applied a solid layer of Gold Ranger Stickles to the back of them and set them aside to dry.

The card base is 5 1/4" square, the dark layer (navy cardstock) is 5" square and the light patterned paper is 4 3/4" square.

The navy for the centre panel is 5 1/4" x 1 1/2" and the white strip is 5 1/4" x 1 1/4"

The edges of all of the layers have been distressed and inked.

The navy at the bottom of the layers was attached to cardboard before it was attached to the card base, the light layer was attached to the navy layer with double sided tape. There is a layer of cardboard between the panel layers and the card front.

I fussy cut the flowers from one of the patterned papers in the pad and attached them so they looked as though they were coming out from behind the panel.

The greeting is from the paper pad and is attached with glue and the glass bubbles were also attached with glue.

The Pyramids Layout for Mystical Scrapbooks October Challenge

 Good morning friends

Today I am sharing a layout I have created for Louise's challenge over at Mystical Scrapbooks.

The sketch is for a double page layout but I decided to only do the left hand side of the sketch. Both sides of the sketch were the same layout but reversed.

I have gutted the light kraft cardstock and used the middle to mat my photos.

The papers I have used are Kaisercraft's Native Breeze Collection and the particular papers are Eucalyptus and Native Flock. I will add links to the papers, cardstock and sequins at the end of this post 

I also used some gold mica flakes to create the pyramids in the background of the layout. This is the first time I have used mica flakes and I found them so easy to work with. I am definitely going to be using these again.

The 28 Lilac Lane sequins, colour Velvet, added a bit of colour and whimsy to the page I thought.

The kraft coloured alpha stickers used for the title blended nicely with the kraft coloured cardstock used for the background and photo mats.

A scribbly black pen page border finished my layout off.

Three cards same design

 Good morning.

Today I am sharing three cards that are created with the same design.

I have created one card using Christmas papers, one using masculine papers and one using feminine papers.

You will find a video showing the creation of these cards here

To create the card bases I have cut A4 sheets of 300gsm cardstock in half creating card bases that are 

5 7/8" x 4 1/8"

All of the papers are cut the same. The layers are:-

4" x 5 3/4"

3 3/4" x 5 1/2"

2 1/2" x 4"

2" x 1"

Pennants 3/4" wide and 2 1/4", 2" and 1 3/4" long

I have used Kaisercraft's Christmas Wishes for this first card.

I used a 3" square cut apart for the sentiment and a circular element to finish the card.

The second card was created using Ultimate Crafts - Gatsby

Kaisercraft's Secret Garden papers were used on this card

I have given the butterfly and flower cluster a coat of Uniquely Creatives glitter pen for a little sparkle

Mystical Scrapbooks October Challenge

 Good morning,

Today I am sharing the layout I created as part of my DT work for Mystical Scrapbooks

The theme for the month (October 2020) is Sketch plus and my challenge is to use this sketch from PageMaps plus stitching

Here is my layout, you can see it follows the sketch very closely.

The photos were taken on one of my walks along the River Torrens here in Adelaide. I am very lucky to live so close to the beautiful walking track that follows both sides of the river. As you can see from the central photo I have even seen Koalas on my walk. Who would think this was in the middle of a city....

Shaker cards using dies

 Hi there

Today I am sharing three shaker cards I have made using dies.

Here are the cards

They are very simple to make. The shaker panel is the whole front of the card.

I found the tricky bits to be regulating the amount of glue I used and judging the correct amount of "fill" to put in the shaker.

I have used craft foam to create my "well" for the card with the rose, and three layers of cardstock for the other two cards.

Check out the video and you will find easy to follow instructions for making your own shaker card. You can use any of your dies for this technique.
