Just thought I would share these quick cards I have made recently.

Aaaah another post so soon.

I took some photos today of the Folio's I made for my friend. I forgot to take them before I gave them to her so had to wait till today to get photos.

I bought the instructions to create this folio from a youtube tutorial I saw and thought it was great. Mum and I made one each and I have shown you those in a previous post. It is such a lovely looking album and holds over 50 photos so it is good for recording an event or for showing a journey through someones life.

It is very time consuming to make, it took me 2 days to make just one of these.

Ray is DJ'ing tonight and I am busy getting packed to head up to Port Douglas tomorrow.
Ray is still not all that well and unfortunately I think the dreaded lurgy is creeping up on me.

It has been a pretty average week this week. Everything is normal for me but Ray has a bug and is not that well. Charli has been sick since last Saturday and before that Cindy was on the sick list. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I don't join them as we are flying to Port Douglas on Sunday morning and I don't want to be sick while I am away.

I have been playing around with making some silicone moulds tonight. I am just waiting for them to set to see how they went. I started out the evening making a layout for my Switzerland album but my heart wasn't really in it so thought I would give the mould making a go.

During the week I did manage to get one double layout completed from my first trip to Switzerland.

I have used the Iridescent Medium with the Prima Mini Chevron stencil on the background and then inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Rusty Hinge to bring the medium out a little more.

Each of the pages in this album have a pocket to hold more photos, ephemera and my diary page for that day. Makes the layouts a bit more of a challenge. Love the colours of this Basic Grey paper. I have had it for quite a while and thought this was an opportune time to use it. I have used a Kaisercraft wooden camera on the right hand page. I inked it with black then applied 2 coats of black embossing powder to give it a nice high gloss.

Time to go and check if my moulds are set.

Another friday night and we are at home again. We must be getting old as we have not been out on a friday night for about 3 weeks now. It could be the colder weather and that there is nothing on that we really want to go to. Not long now and we will be sunning ourselves in Port Douglas and then the Gold Coast for 3 glorious weeks. Just have to keep my fingers crossed that the weather will be kind to us while we are up there, no cyclones and no rain I am hoping.

I have been very busy. Don't ask me what I have been doing but the time has flown.

I am in the process of making a couple of albums for a friend and that has kept me on my toes.

Tomorrow I have got my weekly class at Camelot. Then tomorrow night we have got Charli overnight while Cindy goes to a quiz night that Charli's school is putting on.

a few thoughts to share:-

outside my window....it is cold and dark. There has been plenty of rain over the last few days and I have been picking tomatoes off my potted bush but I think the poor old thing is turning ups its roots and departing this world. I won't be getting many more tomatoes from it.

i am thinking....If I am getting too lazy and that I should be making an effort to go out tonight. Were is the line between laziness, disinterest and nothing fun to go to? I can remember when I would not stay home on a friday night no matter what.

i am thankful for....my charmed life. Even though I get lazy and lethargic around doing things I am happy that I have the choice and that no matter how I am feeling, if I want to make the effort I can do or go anywhere I want to.

i am wearing....my everyday clothes. Slacks , t.shirt and windcheater. I must admit I do have a singlet and ugg boots on tonight.

i am going to...do some more work on the albums I am working on tonight. Tomorrow night I am going to help Charli decorate a box we bought today.

i am currently reading.... since I got started on Candy Crush I have not done any reading. Every time I sit down with a few minutes to spare I got into Candy Crush instead of reading a book. Very addictive.

i am pondering... what clothes I will need to take on holidays. Will need to check the weather forecasts for those areas and start work on getting organised. I am sure there must be something I have to buy to take with me.

i am hoping...for good weather while we are away and that Daisy will not be too hard for Cindy to manage.

i am creating...a couple of albums for a friend. When I have finished that I am going to get back to my Switzerland album from 2009.

on my mind....everything

from the kitchen...Yellow

one of my favourite things...Yogalaties. I must say that since I started doing yogalaties twice a week I am becoming addicted. I really enjoy it and look forward to each lesson. if they had it 5 days a week I would go. The only downfall is that it starts at 9:30 so I need to be up earlier than usual. I don't have to go very far. I leave home at about 9:15.

a few plans for the rest of the week....God knows. play it by ear. Take Daisy to the vet to get some more tablets for her arthritis. She is really showing her age and I worry about her. I certainly don't want her to be in pain and her rear quarters do not work as well as they used to.

one picture to share...my Dad

That's it for this post

We did not go out last night so I decided to create a layout about our last trip to Port Douglas. It was May 2011 and on the 26th May this year (3 weeks time) we are heading up there again, so I thought it was a good time to do this layout and remind myself of what we did when we were last there.

The background is not what I had in mind. I bought some beautiful Matisse Iridescent Medium and I wanted to use it on the background. The problem was I chose an all over spotty stencil to use with it and it was just way too much. I scraped a coat of Gesso over it with my palette knife to tone it down and then sprayed with three Glimmer mists. I have had the photos printed in approx 3" x 2" sizing so I could fit them all on the page. The other photos that I took on this trip will go in the top pocket on the second page when I get them printed.

Off to my class at Camelot this afternoon
