Spring Flowers Blooming Art Journal page

Hello

I have had this background laying around for a while now, so long in fact that I can not remember what I used to colour it. I had a blitz on backgrounds a couple of months ago and can't really remember what I used on any of them. Will have to remember this for future projects. One page at a time.......

I have covered the whole page with lace, then I think I sprayed it with assorted ink/glimmer sprays.
Some texture paste through a circle stencil and a bit of random stamping with a Kaisercraft clear stamp and some Stayzon Ink.

I hand cut the flower petals from book paper the added the circle centres. Some doodling around the edge of the flowers and on the centres before adding a bit of shading around the flowers with my Faber-Castelle Big Brush markers.

The butterflies are clear stickers from Kaisercraft and the words are Tim Holtz stickers.

Going to head off now and start a new project. Not sure if it will be an Art Journal page, a Scrapbooking page or a Card.

Australia Day 2012 Layout

Hi there,

I have been busy doing God knows what.

I have managed to get 1 layout done and I am going to share it now.

I have used SEI - Glitzmas papers along with plenty of white cardstock.
I like the look of matting all the patterned papers and I have used this technique before with black cardstock as the matting. I have used red, white and blue (Australian flag colours) papers, but have thrown in some green as well.

I used my Cricut with the Pretty Pennants cartridge to cut the pennants and my Scan N Cut with the True Type Converter to cut the title.

I am still learning how to use the Scan N Cut and get frustrated that I don't seem to get enough time to just sit down with it and really get my teeth into it.  I guess I will have to make time soon.

Anyway here is the layout

Dresses Layout

Good afternoon from overcast Adelaide.

I have recently had the hard drive in my laptop replaced and I have spent all morning messing around with it setting everything up so I can take it away with me when on holidays as I find the iPad impossible to do blog posts which contain photos, which is basically all of my posts.

The hardest part was getting the email set up for the 2 email accounts I have. Although it was not imperative that I had them both on there as I will still have my iPad with me which receives all my emails, I wanted to get it set up for both anyway. At this stage this is still an ongoing project but I think I have got it sussed.

Anyway I'm off the beaten track a bit there.

I have got a layout to share today that I have done in a monochromatic colour scheme. Well actually black and white.

The papers I have used in this layout are from a kit I bought years ago and it did not have a brand name attached so I have got no idea what it is. Sorry.

I started with a plain white background and splashed it with several Glimmer Mists for just a little touch of colour.

I matted the 2" x 3" photos on a piece of patterned paper then onto black cardstock to reach across the centre of the page.

Next I cut various sized circles on my Scan N Cut and adhered them behind the photo mat.

The alphas for the title and embellishments were in the kit.

A simple layout but I am happy with it.

Cool Layout

Hi there

I am back with another page I created while we were in Geelong. I made up some "kits" before I left with photos and papers so I would have something to keep me busy when we were not out sightseeing or dancing.

I have used SEI - Chalk and Dear Lizzy - Happy Place papers for this layout. the patterned background is a printed transparency in the Happy Place range.

There is some Gyprock tape (dry wall tape) , pink hessian (burlap), a journalling card, some large buttons and a die cut used here to complete the page.

Geelong Class with Cindy Porter

A quick post tonight just to show you the layout I did at a class with Cindy Porter in Geelong.
I have admired Cindy's work for sometime now and when I saw that she was teaching at the  Kaisercraft  Outlet store while I was there I had to go along. Cindy teaches there every Thursday so if you are in Geelong on a Thursday go along to the class and create something beautiful.

I have not added the photo to this layout yet but that will be added to the list of things I have yet to do.

The papers are all from the Sage & Grace line from Kaisercraft

Published Layouts

Hi there,

We have just got back from Geelong where we have been house sitting. We have been away for 3 weeks in total so there have been no posts from me for a while.

When I got home I was sorting through the mail and found my latest Scrapbooking Memories magazine. And look what was inside.

I had two layouts published. I always get a bit of a thrill to see my work in a magazine

Here are the two layouts so you can see them a bit better.

I have used Golden Glass Bead Gel through a hand cut feather stencil  on the white cardstock background before adding some blue splatters with Artiste Spritzing Ink. This was then layered onto orange cardstock. The papers are a mix of Bo Bunny, Basic Grey and Kaisercraft. The paper feathers are cut using a Kaisercraft die. The title uses Heidi Swapp alphas that I have heat embossed with navy blue embossing powder.
A Martha Stewart punch, a bird feather with a bit of ribbon completes the embellishments.
The journalling was printed from my computer and cut into strips to fit where I wanted them.

Once again I have mixed Kaisercraft and Bo Bunny papers on a white background cardstock.
As the photo was taken at school and was in the school newsletter I have used some school type embellishments.
The banner was cut using Spellbinders Nested Lacy Pennants die and Dynamics Mix & Match Banner die. The stars and hearts on top of the banner were made with a punch. The hearts are covered with Dimensional Magic. The title was cut using Tim Holtz Inside Out Alpha die and also covered with Dimensional Magic.

I have got lots more layouts to share that I did while we were away so will be back soon.
