Flutter Art Journal Page

I am back with my pink page.

I have taken a piece of cardstock, painted it with the darkest colour from the background, stamped it, then put it inside the frame. I have painted the frame black and made another butterfly, that I  coloured with white pearlescent water paint. The title is made with glitter letter stickers.

You can see my original post about this page here.

I am much happier with this page now. I have maintained my monochromatic colour scheme and the minimalists  look I had in mind.

Art Journal, acrylic paint, stencil, texture paste, staples, butterfly, twine, stamping, chipboard, punch, rub-ons, heat embossing

The Earth Laughs in Flowers Art Journal Page

Hi there

Today I am sharing an art journal page that has heaps of texture.

I covered the page with crumpled tissue paper, applied some texture paste that had been coloured with acrylic paint, through a stencil then used Color Crush powders (Wheat Green, Blue Heaven & Pineapple) to colour the whole thing. A bit of background stamping using Black Archival Ink was added next. To finish off the background I sprayed it with Gold Spritzing Ink to give it a beautiful sparkle.
I then used a flower stencil and Texture Paste to add the flowers.
Detailing on the flowers and leaves with Acrylic paint, black pen and a black Pitt pen.
Title was stamped on using Black Archival ink

Pink Butterfly Art Journal Page

I am working on this art Journal Page at the moment and seem to have got lost.
I will add a title but I am wondering what else I should do to it.
These are colours I don't normally work with.
I am happy with the progress so far but am open to any suggestions that may improve my page.

I used 3 pink/mauve acrylic paints on the background just wiped across the page with an old credit card. Texture paste through a stencil and some stamping followed. Wrapped some string around the page and secured it with staples. I painted the chipboard frame with acrylic paint and added some stamping and the butterfly was stamped onto white cardstock, painted with pearlescent water paints.

To me the frame and the butterfly get lost on the page and I need a way of making them stand out more. Perhaps I should have done them in different colours but I was sort of aiming for a monochromatic look.

Baby Wipe Flower

I watched a video on youtube the other day by Maremi's Small Arts and she made a flower using a dry baby wipe that had been used to clean up her work area as she made an art journal page. I thought I would give it a go.

This is the flower and the art journal background I was creating when I used the baby wipe.
You let the baby wipe dry then cut it into circles and heat the edges of it with your heat gun to give it a few crinkles. I found that it had to be very hot to get it to crinkle. Then stick at all together with a hot glue gun and add a gem. Marta makes her flower in 1 minute, I had to heat mine for longer than that to get any sort of movement in it. Check out Marta's video here
