I am having a bad computer day today... Each year I create a calendar for my family and give it to them as a christmas gift. I use Snapfish to do this and today was the day for getting the calendar organised and ordered. The calendar is a template that you can personalise with your own photos and various backgrounds and is simple to assemble once you have decided which photos to use and uploaded them to Snapfish. Well I had mine 99% finished this afternoon and then the website went into meltdown and I thought I had lost all of my work. I tried to re-load it several times and it just kept timing out. In disgust I turned the whole thing off and went and prepared and ate tea. When I got back onto the computer thinking that I would have to start all over again up it came, almost like I left it so it only took me about 45mins to finish it off.  I am glad to get that off my list of things to do as they have a special rate effective until 2nd November which cuts the price in half.

some thoughts:-

Outside my window it is pitch black but the sun today has generated 19kwh of electricity for me
I am thinking about making some Christmas cards. I have not started yet
I am thankful for every day I get to do exactly what I want to
I am wearing 3/4 track pants and a tshirt because I actually got on my treadmill today
I am going to take Charli to Beeboppers tomorrow because Ray is going to work on the scooters
I am currently reading The Summons by John Grisham
I am hoping that kids will call and collect all of the chocolate I have in the cupboard for Halloween because I know that if there is any left I will eat it.
On my mind.. I rang Seriously Scrapbooking today to see if I could get into the Ingvild Bolme class on Thursday night. They said they would put me on the list if anyone cancels. Why did I leave it to the last minute????
From the kitchen..Nothing... but thinking about the chocolate
Around the house.. Ray has just come in from his shed where he is modifying his DJ equipment so he can use a laptop instead of a CD player
One of my favourite things... A nice hot shower
A few plans for the rest of the week..A day with Charli tomorrow, maybe the RnR Club tomorrow night, some card making, a bit of scrapbooking, and walking on my treadmill everyday
A picture to share... A layout of Charli when she was a baby

Till next time

Who would have thought it... 3 posts in 3 days, some sort of new record for me.

The reason for this post is to show you what I have created for the #2 Sketch here at My Creative Sketches as part of their Big Sketch Challenge. As you know from a previous post I won a prize package from them recently so I have used some of the goodies from that prize in this layout.

A couple of closeups. As the layout is about dressmaking there is, of course, stitching and lace on the layout

I have painted the chipboard with acrylic paint and then added Dimensional Magic to the flourishes and the title but left the scissors flat.

The tag is tucked behind the photo and holds the journalling

I have been very productive this morning so I am going to keep going while the mood takes me.

Till next time

Kindy is for kids right!! Charli has started her transition kindy sessions and she goes on a Wednesday morning. Yesterday was her second day. Yesterday she learned about Osmosis using an experiment with white roses and food colouring in a glass of water. I had never seen this done before so we set up an experiment so Charli could have something to check out when she got up this morning. This is what greeted her

We used red, green and blue food colouring in the cups with water and our white roses magically changed colour.  It amazes me that these things are taught at such an early age.

She enjoyed her sleepover and I took her to child care this morning. I always feel a bit sad leaving her there but she enjoys it and learns lots of social skills in the process.

I have started a layout this morning and the photo I wanted to use had not been printed so I thought I would print it myself. I am always a bit disappointed when I print the photos because the colours are never quite right. I think I need to buy some Kodak A4 sheets of photo card as the Kodak 6 x 4 card works reasonably well but I have not yet mastered the art of using Pages on my Mac, and trying to get the photo to fit on a 6 x 4 piece of card has not worked. It seems to be very amateurish after using word. I have toyed with the idea of buying Office for Mac and the more I use Pages the more I think it would be worth the expense, just in the frustration it would save.

It is a beautiful day here in Adelaide 26 degrees celsius, our new solar panels will be earning their keep today.

Well I'm off to do some more scrappin so....

Till next time

My how time does fly.... It is over a week since my last post and I am wondering where the time has gone.

We went to Berri for the Rock and Roll Festival they had on. It was a very busy weekend. Friday night was held at the Berri Club. The band was Jam Train and they were excellent. Everyone had a great night. Saturday night's function was held in the Town Hall. The band was Mack Brown 7 from Adelaide and Ray was the DJ. The theme was Gals & Gangsters so there were plenty of costumes to admire. Sunday morning breakfast at the Club and then drive home. A great weekend. I took my camera to Berri with me but then did not take it to the show on Saturday night so I have not got any photos, I have asked my friends to email me some of their photos. Tonight Lindsay bought me around a CD with some of the photos they had taken over the weekend. These are a couple of them. Thanks Wendy & Lindsay

Monday was a catchup day for washing, ironing and sleeping!!! In the afternoon a friend came around and we spent a bit of time in the craft room, very relaxing.

Tuesday we had Charli and while Ray took her to Beeboppers I did a bit of shopping in Jetty Road at Glenelg. I thought it was time for a few new clothes and I bought a new jacket and three new tops. I also took 103 photos of layouts that I have done over the years and had not photographed. Now all I have to do is crop then and rename them and file them on my computer so I know where to find them.

Today I went to work and tonight we have got Charli overnight because she wanted a sleepover at Nanny & Poppy's.

The photos below are of two double page layouts I did some time ago, about the Berri Festival in 2006

That's it for this post but I will be back soon.

Till next time

Do you remember that I won a draw prize from My Creative Scrapbook in about the middle of September..... Well it arrived today from America. WOW, WOW, WOW is all I can say. There is so much in the pack and it is all gorgeous. This first photo is of the whole package. The papers are the Grace Taylor line by Grant Archival

A closeup of some of the beautiful Prima flowers, the beautiful beaded braid and 2 Red Glass pins. There is also some mini alphas hidden in the edge of the photo

This fabulous 12 x 12 sheet of chipboard has so many uses. The papers are double sided and a full view of the prima flowers

More flowers, lace and some of the great patterned papers.

I could not believe the amount of lovelies in the box. It is certainly worth entering their sketch challenges. Why not check them out HERE.

Can't wait to get started on creating a page using all these goodies.

A quick post today to share an album I did 12 - 18 months ago for Cindy with photos of Charli in it. I have been going through my layouts on the computer and came across quite a few that I have not shared, so will be showing them to you over the next few posts. It has taken me 2 days to sort them all out and delete the duplicates etc. There were some that the photos were so bad that I have deleted them and have to re-photograph the pages.

This is the album. It is very bright. I have used Kaisercraft papers on it.

Off to the Port Dock Hotel to listen to the Jump Daddy's then to the Lighthouse Inn to see the Barstool Philosophers. Hopefully a bit of dancing in amongst it all.

Till next time

What a Week!!!. I have not stopped... I must say though I am glad to be home. I have had a great week catching up with lots of family and seeing Suzi Quatro, Russell Morris and Brian Cadd. Mental As Anything were there to, but I am not a Mentals fan. It was a fantastic show. Suzi has not lost anything.

Today Cindy and I did a Creative Cupcakes course at WEA. It was showing how to decorate cupcakes.

These are a few that I did. Ladybug

Monster

Bumble Bee

and a butter icing swirl

plenty of room for improvement but I enjoyed the 3 hour course

I start my new job tomorrow. One day a week doing bookwork for a business on Port Road. Takes 10 minutes to get to work. I am looking forward to it.

Time to go and have a look at a few of your blogs.

Till next time

The new challenge is up at Black with Two. The criteria is black background with baby pink and aqua.
This is my layout. Charli just loves wearing fairy dresses at the moment so I thought I would do a layout about that. I have layered the background with the two colours of the challenge just to add a bit more dimension and I have stamped and clear embossed butterflies on the black background.  I have sprayed some lace fabric with glimmermist and gathered it up to put behind the photos. I also sprayed the lace at the bottom of the photo with the same glimmermist. I have gone crazy over the nestability and doily dies lately so I have used multiple dies to cut out the hearts, circles and doilies and layered them behind the photos. I made the flowers using an EK Success quilling punch. Then a bit of bling to the flowers and the heart. The text is wooden letters that I have painted with acrylic paint.

Hope your long weekend has been happy. We have been flat out. We had our fundraising event for Deaf CanDo on Saturday night so Saturday morning we were at the hall setting it up, Saturday afternoon I had my scrapbooking class at Camelot. We had a very productive and happy afternoon, I enjoy catching up with all the ladies. Saturday night of course off to the dance.

Sunday morning here in South Australia we had to put our clocks forward one hour for daylight savings, that made it 2:30 before we got to bed. We were up at 7am to drive to Palmer for the Palmer Street Party & Hot Rod Show. Four and a half hours sleep is just not enough for me so when we got home I had a nap and spent the night on the couch watching telly.

This morning I am back to feeling like a human being again. It is a beautiful day here. I have taken Daisy for a walk and really enjoyed it.

I made this card for a friends birthday. A gift voucher will be placed in the pocket that has been made on the inside. And I will make a tag to go in the pocket as well so that all our friends can sign the card. The flower on the front of the card was made using the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die. It is my favourite flower at the moment

Hope you have got something enjoyable planned for what is left of the long weekend if you happen to be in South Australia.

Till next time
