Hi there. Just a quick post tonight to show you my new dining room table. The marble one we have had for the past 25 years developed a very large crack in it and was about to break off so we thought it was time to get a new one. Went to LeCornu yesterday afternoon. This was the only black table they had. We had looked at a couple of other places a few weeks ago and had seen some that we liked but we both liked this one so I rang this morning and bought it and it was delivered this morning. That meant Ray had to take the old one out. Quite a job, very heavy but Ray and Tony (next door neighbour) got it out in one piece.

The table itself is made of timber and the top is black 8mm glass. It is 2.1 mtrs long by 1 mtr wide.

i spent the afternoon buying fabric to replace the sheer curtains in our bedroom. Turned out to be a bit of a chore because I wanted to stick with pinch pleating and it doesn't seem to be "in vogue" at the moment and the tape is hard to come by. I did get everything I need though so next week I will make them and hang them. Time for a bit of updating around here.

Thanks for dropping by
Till next time

Another busy week but hey that's what life is about I guess.

On Friday we went to Charli's school for Grandparents and Special Friends Day. We saw a musical presentation and although Charli's class was not included it was entertaining. Then we went to visit Charli in her classroom and she got to show us some of her activities and we got to help her with some other activities. A very enjoyable morning.

one of the activities was making this crown.

in the afternoon Ray and I went to the office furniture shop and bought a metal stationery cupboard. I want to rearrange my scrap room so things are easier to get at. I plan on putting all of the finished albums and things I do not access on a regular basis in this cupboard in the shed so the cupboard had to be dust and vermin proof. I have actually made some pretty good progress on this project and am starting to see some improved access to the things I use regularly.

Sunday was our 40th Wedding Anniversary. I made Ray this card.

To celebrate we went to the Restaurant at Windy Point for lunch.

When we had finished lunch we went to The Settlers Hotel at Tee Tree Gully to listen to The Cruise Brothers and have a couple of dances. A great day.

I have not done any crafty stuff except Rays card as I have been busy reorganising etc but hopefully will get around to doing something fun during the next couple of days.

Some holiday snaps

Mossman Gorge. We only had an hour here but it was sooo pretty. This is the type of country I love.

Mossman Gorge

The gardens at Osprey Restaurant. It is part of a resort and there are log cabins spotted all through the rainforest. Very pretty.

Lake Barrine. We went for a cruise around the lake and then had lunch in the restaurant. More great scenery. Just love the greenery.

A python on the banks of the lake

A turtle and eel in the lake. There were lots of turtles and a few eels.

A Koala at the art gallery that I walked past on my morning walks. I actually saw them putting it in position. This is about 5 to 5.5 feet tall and is the same sort of thing that they do in Switzerland with life sized plaster cows.

The view from Point Danger on my walk.

Surfers Paradise in the distance

Looking at Coolangatta from the walking track. The white marquee on the lawns is only there for the festival.

The view from our apartment.

Lots of other photos of course that will appear on my layouts as I get to them.

We are home from our travels. 6 nights in Port Douglas and 10 nights in Coolangatta for the Coolly Rocks On Rock and Roll Festival.

We had great weather while we were gone, only rained once in Port Douglas and twice in Coolangatta during the day.

Love Port Douglas, the foliage, the beach, the restaurants, all great.

This was my dinner one night in Port Douglas. Yum

We walked along the beach from our resort to Port Douglas three of the six days we were there. Love walking on that beach. It was quite windy though.

Had lunch one day at a restaurant called Osprey. The food was delicious and the wild life plentiful.

and the view from our table was to die for

We got home at 5pm on Tuesday and went to Cindy's to see Cindy and Charli and pick Daisy up. I bit into a piece of liquorice and pulled the crown off of my tooth. Glad that happened here and not while I was away. Went to the dentist yesterday and he put it back in place for me so all good now.

Will be back soon to share some more holiday snaps and some crafty stuff that I did before we went away
